Commercial office employee/ Purchasing

At our processed cheese factory, you will be the first point of contact for customers and suppliers as a Commercial office employee (purchasing). You combine commercial insight with organizational skills to ensure smooth processes related to sales, customer service, and procurement. In this dynamic role, you work closely with the production, logistics, and quality control departments to guarantee efficient product delivery and optimal inventory management.

Responsibilities

Commercial Tasks:

  • Maintaining and expanding relationships through telephone and written communication.
  • Preparing, following up on, and processing quotations.
  • Responding to customer and supplier inquiries regarding products, delivery times, and pricing.
  • Identifying opportunities and contributing ideas for commercial improvements.
  • Preparing reports on purchasing results and supplier evaluations.

Procurement Activities:

  • Supporting procurement processes by managing orders and maintaining contact with suppliers.
  • Checking deliveries for completeness and quality in collaboration with the quality department.
  • Monitoring inventory levels and ordering raw materials, packaging, and other essentials on time.
  • Comparing supplier quotations and negotiating prices and terms.
  • Collaborating with production and logistics to ensure optimal planning and availability.

Administrative Support:

  • Processing sales and procurement data in the ERP system.
  • Maintaining accurate customer and supplier records.
  • Identifying and resolving bottlenecks in the order process.

Communication and Coordination:

  • Acting as a link between suppliers and internal departments.
  • Actively contributing to the optimization of internal processes and customer-focused operations.

What We Are Looking For:

  • A completed MBO or HBO education, preferably in a commercial, logistical, or administrative field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the food industry.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English.
  • Experience with ERP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • A customer-focused and proactive attitude with a keen eye for detail.
